About Me

Hi, I’m Eric, Head of Android at a leading digital biometrics company. I’m a passionate Android developer with over 15 years of experience, ever since I embarked on this adventure in 2009. Born in Córdoba and with a strong desire to return to my homeland, I currently reside in Elda, although my heart still beats to the rhythm of Andalusia.

My Journey: From Symbian to Leading Android Teams

My path in the development world began as a hobby, exploring the fascinating universe of Symbian back in 2007. But it was in 2009 when I made the professional leap, betting on Android and dedicating myself body and soul to this platform. Since then, I have worked as a freelancer, been part of teams that have developed apps with millions of downloads on Google Play, and more recently, I have specialized in the development of SDKs for facial biometrics and digital identification.

More Than a Developer, a Problem Solver

What really drives me is solving problems. Programming, technical challenges, software engineering, having to find the solution to a problem never before encountered… all of that excites me and is the fuel that drives me to continue learning and growing day after day. I consider myself an analyst, a problem solver, and someone who enjoys facing challenges that require him to be at the forefront of technology, using the most modern Android tools, frameworks, and APIs.

Throughout my career, I have overcome great challenges. I especially remember my beginnings when I faced the complete development of an application from scratch, with hardly any knowledge of architecture. I have also dealt with complex situations such as Google Play penalties, defending the legitimacy of the applications I worked on. But from each challenge, I have learned and emerged stronger.

Leading Teams and Sharing My Experience

One of my greatest professional achievements was being part of the team that developed the official Atlético de Madrid app, a project I am particularly proud of. In addition, I have had the opportunity to manage teams of up to 7 Android developers and currently, I lead the Mobile department (Android + iOS) at my company. I firmly believe in the power of communication to help people improve and discover new skills.

Beyond the Code

I am described as a person with a sense of humor, intelligent, and tenacious. Loyalty, integrity, and consistency are fundamental values for me. I used to dedicate a lot of time to photography, especially astrophotography, as the universe and the art of capturing it have always fascinated me.

Looking to the Future

My goal is to continue growing as a software engineer and refine my skills to become a good software architect.
